Our tours will take you into the heart of the mountain and show you the work being done on the tunnels from up close. Registration is only possible from our website.

The following rules and prescriptions must be observed:

  • We offer guided tours on specific days and at specific times: on Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • A single group will include no less than 8 and no more than 16 visitors
  • Minimum age: 18 years old (15 for students)
  • Pregnant women and persons with pacemakers may not take part in the guided tours into the tunnel

Tour activities and equipment

Meeting Point: BBT Tunnel World, Alfons-Graber-Weg 1, 6150 Steinach (opposite the bottom station of the Bergeralm Bahn)

One of our colleagues will present the Brenner Base Tunnel Project interactively in the BBT Tunnel World (about 1 hour). Then you will be taken in our vehicles into the tunnel and on the disposal site Padastertal. The visit lasts about 2.5 hours.
We will provide you with safety boots, hard hats, high-visibility vests, an electronical tracking device and oxygen self-rescue apparatus.

How to get there

The tour starts at the BBT Tunnel World Alfons-Graber-Weg 1, 6150 Steinach am Brenner.
Parking is available for bus and car.

Coming from the highway A13 use the „Matrei/Steinach“ exit; then follow route B182 towards Steinach/Brenner. At the first roundabout will find a sign that guides you to the BBT Tunnel World (Tunnelwelten). Please follow the sign.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

it is currently not possible to book tours of our construction sites.
All the available dates for 2018 have already been booked.
We ask for your understanding!

We are delighted to invite you to the construction site tour on the Open Tunnel Day in September 2018!
These events will take place on September 16th, 2018 on the Ahrental construction site and on September 23rd, 2018 on the Mules construction site.
All those who are interested are more than welcome!
