From September 28 to October 1, 2026, the European transport community turned its gaze to Brussels: the Connecting Europe Days brought together the minds behind Europe's most vital infrastructure projects as well as decision-makers from politics and European institutions. Right in the thick of it: BBT SE. Together with the Brenner Corridor Platform (BCP), ÖBB-Infrastruktur, DB InfraGO, and RFI, the company showcased how the Munich–Verona corridor is shaping the future of travel and transport.
Europe's rail network gets a powerful core
Competitiveness, green resilience, and smart financing took center stage at this year's conference. As the developer of the Brenner Base Tunnel—the undisputed centerpiece of the European rail network—BBT SE used the event to deliver a clear message: a century-spanning project of this magnitude can only be successfully realized when all participants and stakeholders pull together in close coordination.
Under the umbrella of the BCP, the partners demonstrated how practical cooperation succeeds:
• Overcoming borders, harmonizing processes: The BCP is driving forward joint solutions to make cross-border rail transport seamless, efficient, and standardized.
• A shared foundation for Europe: The Brenner Base Tunnel is growing as an engineering masterpiece, while the framework conditions for smooth cross-border rail operations are simultaneously being optimized.
• In direct dialogue for the green mobility of tomorrow
Whether at exhibition booths or in in-depth expert discussions, the event in Brussels served as a platform for exchanging ideas with EU decision-makers and experts. The message from the heart of Europe is unequivocal: the Brenner Base Tunnel is much more than an infrastructure project—it is the tangible result of a strong European partnership paving the way for green and attractive mobility.
