At the 12th Commanders’ Forum of the International Fire Academy, held in Innsbruck, the Brenner Base Tunnel project was among the key topics of discussion. As one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects, the BBT presents entirely new challenges for first response services.
Around 170 senior officers visited the construction sites on the Austrian side, gaining insight into safety concepts and emergency response plans.
Underground projects such as the BBT require innovative operational strategies, highly specialized training, and ever-closer international cooperation.
The BBT clearly shows how essential preparedness, knowledge exchange, and the ability to innovate are in addressing future challenges.
A sincere thank you to all colleagues for the excellent organization and for the valuable exchange with experts in the field.
