Discover the currently biggest underground infrastructure project in Europe in this roughly 800 m 2 exhibit and learn about the exciting world of the Alps. Lots of displays, on history, geology, topography, tunnel construction, environmental issues and so much more, invite you to touch, discover, play and learn. The Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) is a low-gradient railway line running through the Alps; a railway line for the future. The tunnel is the heart of the Scandinavian – Mediterranean TEN-Corridor. At 64 km, it is the longest underground railway connection in the world, a pioneering work of engineering and it will markedly improve passenger travel and freight transport through the heart of Europe.
