These are Ampass, Ahrental, Padastertal, Genauen and Hinterrigger. All disposal sites are located in the vicinity of the access tunnels to keep excavated material transport routes as short as possible. The excavated material is automatically fed from the excavation face via conveyor belts to the nearest disposal site. Great care has been taken to ensure that the disposal sites also serve some other purpose, shielding from highway noise or separating woodlands and open country. To fulfil these purposes, they are arranged in such a way as to visually fit into the landscape, rather than destroy the landscape by being an eyesore. After filling is completed, all of the areas will be reclaimed and returned to their original use as forest or agricultural land. Disposal sites along the line Ahrental disposal site.
