Authorizations 

All important authorizations for the construction of the Brenner base tunnel are expected to be granted in Italy and Austria by the end of 2008. All of these are based on an environmental compatibility evaluation.

The public debate in Austria concerning the expert opinion on environmental compatibility will take place in October of 2008.

More or less at the same time, the procedure for the second phase of the CIPE (Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning) II - environmental compatibility will be carried out in Italy. The Service Conference was opened in Rome on June 24th, 2008.
